1) Keeping Sophomore wide receiver Jeff Thomas hot

As Canes Warning examined earlier this week Sophomore wide receiver Jeff Thomas is on pace for a historic season with the Miami Hurricanes. With his current per game numbers Thomas would break the program records for All-Purpose and receiving yards in a season. He would fall about 30 yards short of the Miami kick return record.

Thomas and Miami Hurricanes quarterback Malik Rosier have developed a good rhythm with star Junior wide receiver Ahmmon Richards out. Thomas leads Miami with 11 receptions and 304 receiving yards and is tied for the team lead with two touchdown receptions through the first three weeks of the 2018 season.

Thomas has been sensational on special teams this season. He has five kickoff returns for 123 yards for an average of 24.6 yards per return. Thomas had two punt returns for 90 yards in the 77-0 victory over Savannah State.

With Richards out, Rosier and the Miami offense has leaned on Thomas. Thomas was by far the best player on offense for Miami in the loss to LSU. He had five receptions for 132 yards and added two kick returns for 50 yards in the 33-17 loss.
