The Miami Hurricanes welcome Florida State to Hard Rock Stadium for a renewal of their rivalry. Miami ended a seven-game losing streak against FSU in Tallahassee last season. Now Miami tries to end a six-game home losing streak to the Seminoles.

After losing their season opener to LSU the Miami Hurricanes have rattled off four straight wins. Florida State comes to South Florida on a two-game winning streak after beginning the season 1-2.

The Miami Hurricanes are 1-0 in the ACC after last week’s blowout victory over North Carolina. Florida State defeated Louisville last week to improve to 1-2 in the conference. They have losses to Virginia Tech and Syracuse.

  • The Florida State-Miami rivalry is trying to get back some of the luster that has been lost during the Hurricanes nearly decade and a half of mediocrity and the Seminoles mediocrity of the last two or three seasons.

Miami enters Saturday’s game as the favorite and higher ranked team for the third straight season against Florida State. The Hurricanes lost the 2016 game when FSU blocked a Michael Badgley extra point with just over a minute remaining. The Hurricanes turned the tables last season with a 24-20 victory in Tallahassee.

A lot of questions abound for Saturday’s game. Can Florida State block Miami’s front seven? How will N’Kosi Perry play in his first game against the Seminoles and just his third start overall? Can the Hurricanes handle the pressure of being a prohibitive favorite and can Miami break the six-game home losing streak to FSU.

Miami having the expectation to win has nearly flipped the rivalry to the Hurricanes favor. They need to win over FSU on Saturday and break the six-game losing streak at home to the Seminoles to complete the flip of who controls the rivalry.
