I’ll answer the second part first. I think there has been too much of an attempt to make Cam Akers the centerpiece of the new Gulf Coast offense. While he is arguably the best talent on the offense, it doesn’t work when you have no line to block for him.

You saw last week against Louisville that the team went more passing and had success, so we’ll see what this game holds.

How can the(y)(sic) run the ball? Well, aside from slashing the tires on the Miami team bus going from Coral Gables to Hard Rock Stadium so the defense can’t get there, the best way is going to be having success with the passing game early.

If Miami knows they can play man to man in the secondary and stack the box, the running game will be in trouble.

CW- Willie Taggart was praised throughout the offseason as being an offensive guru. Florida State’s offense has been erratic at best and abysmal at other times this season. Particularly against Virginia Tech who lost seven starters off last season’s team and Syracuse who has played well but is mediocre.

They showed signs of life last week but it came against arguably the ACC’s worst team this season, Louisville. The Miami Hurricanes are second in the nation in total defense. Florida State hasn’t run the ball with any consistency and is the bottom ten in rushing offense.
