Miami Hurricanes midseason review of the offense

Perry immediately made an impact against the Panthers and grabbed the first-team quarterback away from Rosier. He completed his first ten passes and led Miami on scoring drives. The Hurricanes eventually won the game 31-17.

Perry has not been spectacular since, but Richt has said that they like his ceiling more than Rosier’s. Perry’s completion percentage has been better than Rosier but he has still been erratic, especially against Florida State.

He struggled in the first half against the Seminoles and redeemed himself after halftime with three touchdown passes but still was just six for 14 after halftime. That included three of nine in the fourth quarter.

A lot of the Miami Hurricanes inconsistencies on offense are related to the mediocre play of the offensive live. Senior center Tyler Gauthier who is the leader of the Miami offensive line lit into his peers this week.

"“We got our tails kicked most of the game against FSU…We came back and won because our defense helped us. (Tuesday) we played like we were going to get our tails kicked again. I don’t want that to happen…We have to figure out how to get mentally tougher around here. Or we ain’t going to get better until that happens.”"
