The Miami Hurricanes hope to avoid a letdown coming off the big win over Florida State last weekend when they travel to Charlottesville, Virginia to face the UVA Cavaliers.

Virginia is coming off its bye week and is 3-2 on the season. The Miami Hurricanes travel to Charlottesville with a five-game winning streak and tied with Virginia Tech at 2-0 in the ACC Coastal Division.

Miami had to rally from 14 points down twice in last season’s game at Hard Rock Stadium to get the victory. Jaquan Johnson’s 30-yard interception return for a touchdown with 9:57 remaining in the third quarter tied the game as the Hurricanes closed in the second half by scoring the last 30 points of the game.

The victory over Virginia in South Florida last season came on Senior day and was the Miami Hurricanes last win of the 2017 season. The Hurricanes would lose the following week to Pittsburgh in the regular season finale.

They also went on to lose to Clemson two weeks later in the ACC Championship game and to Wisconsin in the Orange Bowl on New Years Eve Eve.

The Miami Hurricanes own a nine to six lead in the all-time series against Virginia. The Hurricanes have won the last three against the Cavaliers. Before Miami’s win streak, UVA had won four of the previous five. Miami also suffered the infamous 48-0 loss to Virginia in the Hurricanes last game played at the Orange Bowl.

Virginia enters Saturday’s game with wins over Richmond, Ohio and Louisville. The Cavaliers losses were to Indiana and undefeated North Carolina State. The 5-0 Wolfpack and 6-0 Clemson are the only undefeated teams left in the ACC.
