Miami Hurricanes offense subpar versus Power Five teams under Richt

The shifting around on the offensive line has also hurt Miami. Tyree St. Louis at left tackle and Tyler Gauthier at center are the only Miami players on the offensive line to start every game this season at the same position.

Getting continuity on the offensive line is vital. If they don’t get consistent play up front to clear lanes in the ground game and keep the quarterbacks upright the entire offense suffers. The Miami Hurricanes appear to be heading down the same path as they did at the end of the 2017 season.

The Miami offense didn’t play well during the three-game losing streak to end last season and in the two losses in 2018. The Hurricanes have now lost five of their last seven games against teams from Power Five Conferences. Three of those five losses came against ACC teams.

Mark Richt and Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown have 12 days to get the problems worked out. Another tough road game at Boston College awaits after the bye. Miami needs to get the offensive issues worked out quickly. If they don’t the season will go south in a hurry.
