1) Tennessee

Similar to UCLA, Tennessee lives in the shadow of one its biggest rivals. Between 1995 and 2006 Tennessee defeated Alabama 10 times in 12 meetings. Nick Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2007 and the Volunteers have not defeated Alabama since.

Tennessee fired Philip Fulmer effective at the end of the 2008 season. The Volunteers finished 2008 5-7. The following four seasons under Derek Dooley and Butch Jones would also result in losing seasons.

Jones helped Tennessee break the stretch of losing records with a 7-6 record and berth in the Tax Slayer Bowl in 2014. That followed with a pair of 9-4 seasons. Jones seemed to have the Vols going in the right direction.

Jones was fired after Tennessee began the 2017 season 4-6. Former Ball State, San Diego State and Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke led the Vols in losses to LSU and Vanderbilt in the final two games of 2017. Former Alabama Defensive Coordinator Jeremy Pruitt for this season.
