Keep the defense off the field

Georgia Tech’s run-oriented offense allows them to stay on the field and wear down opposing defenses. The Yellow Jackets are fifth in the nation averaging over 34 minutes per game holding on to the football.

An efficient performance from the Miami Hurricanes offense could be more vital against Georgia Tech than it has been at any other time this season. That extends far beyond the play from Perry at Quarterback.

Miami needs a consistent performance from its offensive line and the running game. The Hurricanes dominated Duke on the ground in the first half last week in a deluge.

Miami ran for 235 yards in the first half but the reproduced only 12 points. The Hurricanes finished the night with 300 yards on the ground.

Miami needs a far better performance in the passing game against Georgia Tech. Perry and Rosier combined for only 111 yards passing in what was admittedly brutal conditions. The lack of a passing game has been a constant this season.

The Hurricanes are 102nd in the nation in passing offense. With the receivers that they have that’s inexcusable. The Hurricanes have not topped 200 yards passing in a game since their final nonconference game this season against FIU.
