Four-star weakside defensive end Adisa Isaac has announced that the Miami football program is one of four finalists for where he will attend college.
Isaac would be an important addition to the Miami football program. The Hurricanes will lose at least Senior Demetrius Jackson at defensive end and could lose Junior Joe Jackson a year early to the NFL. The Hurricanes also lose standout tackle Gerald Willis on the defensive front four.
Isaac made the announcement via Twitter in conjunction with declaring that he will be taking his final visit to Syracuse. Penn State and Texas A&M are the other two schools that are finalists to sign the nation’s 64th ranked player in the Class of 2019, the fourth best weakside defensive end and best player in New York.
Penn State is the prohibitive favorite to sign Isaac. The 17 recruiting experts surveyed by 247Sports.Com unanimously project Isaac to sign with the Nittany Lions. Isaac who plays for Canarsie High School in Brooklyn would be the second player from New York’s largest borough to commit to Miami.
The Miami football program has had four-star defensive tackle Jason Blissett committed for 2019 since September. Blissett is a player that’s rising up the recruiting boards. Blissett is the 365th ranked player in the Class of 2019, the 27th ranked defensive tackle and second-ranked player in N.Y. behind Isaac.
Miami has five defensive linemen committed to their 2019 Recruiting Class. Two weakside defensive ends are among those five.
Four-star, 6’4 225-pound Jahfari Harvey is rising up the recruiting board similarly to Blissett. Three-star Cameron Williams from Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood is also committed to Miami. Harvey is the nation’s 248th ranked player, the 17th ranked defensive end and 36th ranked player in Florida. Williams if 468th, 35th and 61st.
Although the projections seem to have Isaac headed to Penn State, he did retweet three-star defensive tackle Jason Hunte’s news that he received an offer to play for the Miami football team.
The other defensive end opposite Sophomore defensive end Jonathan Garvin is in question heading into 2019 if Joe Jackson leaves for the NFL. Junior Scott Patchan is the only other returnee that was listed on the two-deep depth chart at defensive end for Miami’s victory over Pittsburgh in the final regular season game.
Isaac took his official visit to Coral Gables last weekend. Four-star offensive tackle Michael Tarquin who already committed to Miami also took his official visit with Miami last weekend. The Hurricanes are in danger of losing Tarquin to Florida.
