Why would anyone want him? While he might not have been directly implicated in the sexual assaults and rapes at Baylor, he was on the staff when they happened. There have been multiple reports that Briles did nothing to help change the culture that was permeating at Baylor.
While talking to recruits Briles said, “Do you like white women, because we have plenty of them at Baylor and they love football players” This was likely stated to primarily black players.
The comment was wrong on so many levels. Many fans sadly cannot see that. Briles might be an offensive genius, guru or great coach, but he comes with a lot of baggage that is troubling in the #metoo era. A school like Florida Atlantic or Houston hiring Briles is different than Miami hiring him.

Briles being on the staff at Houston is not without some nepotism involved. Before being hired to be the Head Coach at Baylor, Briles father Art led the Houston football program. Briles comment about the women at Baylor is deeper than that’s what coaches say to players as a pair of fans told Canes Warning on social media.
The rumors in the past week have had Briles being recruited by Florida State and Tennessee to be their next Offensive Coordinator. Richt has currently has connections to both schools. He was employed as the Quarterbacks Coach and then the Offensive Coordinator at Florida State in the 1990s.
Tennesee Head Coach Jeremy Pruitt was the Defensive Coordinator at Georgia under Richt. If those schools want Briles, they can have him. It would be surprising for Tennessee to hire Briles.
Pruitt was hired by the Volunteers after an uproar caused Ohio State assistant Greg Schiano to not get the job because of his involvement in the Penn State scandal. The backlash against Schiano came via social media. It’s surprising, but it seems as if many in the Miami Hurricanes fanbase are not disturbed by what happened at Baylor.
