The fact that they said that they have “launched a national search for a new defensive coordinator and we have already received great interest from around the country is difficult to quantify after promoting Banda and Patke. It’s not to say that they are or will be bad choices.

The analysis ranged from Banda and Patke not having enough experience to be coordinators to Richt using the open coaching position to hire an offensive coordinator and whether or not keeping Banda and Patke had to do with the impact it would have on recruiting.
