The second annual early signing day in college football takes place about six weeks earlier than the traditional signing day in February. Several of the Miami football verbal commits and potential future players will sign during the early signing period this week.

The early signing period begins on Wednesday and continues this week through Friday. Some key Miami football recruits will announce nationally on ESPN Wednesday and several others will sign their National Letters of Intent more quietly and traditionally by faxing their NLIs to the Miami Athletic Department.

Canes Warning detailed the three players who will declare their college intentions live on ESPN2 and ESPNU on Wednesday. Miami is a longshot to sign any of the three.

Weakside defensive end Lloyd Summeral, offensive tackle Evan Neal and tight end Keon Zipperer will all announce their college decisions live on ESPN2 and ESPNU on Wednesday, December 19. Signing any one of the three would be a huge boost to a Miami football recruiting class currently ranked 29th nationally.

Neal is one of the final two of the seven players scheduled to announce his decision on ESPN. His announcement will come in the 2 pm hour. Summeral and Zipperer’s announcements will be televised by ESPN2 and Neal’s will commence on ESPNU. The signing day telecast will be five hours between ESPN2 and ESPNU.

Expect Wednesday to be a show with Neal, Summeral and Zipperer’s college choices. Per Rivals.com as reported by the Miami Herald Zipperer will have Miami, Florida, Alabama and LSU hats on his desk when he signs his Letter of Intent. Summeral will have Miami, Florida and Nebraska hats on his desk.

There are several other players that will send in their NLIs or at least verbally commit to their college of choice during the early signing period. Currently ranked 29th, the Miami football Surge ’19 recruiting class needs to build some momentum by securing players that are on the cusp of whether or not they will play at Miami.
