Williams departure is not a good look for Mark Richt and his program. The Hurricanes leading receiver Jeff Thomas was dismissed or left the team the week in between the Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh games.

Only five of the 13 Miami’s signees in the Surge ’19 Class that have signed on the early National Signing day today are on the offensive side of the ball. Two are offensive linemen and a third is a tight end. None are quarterbacks. Heading into the 2019 season Miami will be left with Perry and Cade Weldon at quarterback.

The question now is what’s next. Richt, Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown and Richt’s son quarterbacks coach Jon Richt are going to have to check the NCAA.Com’s transfer database and try and sign a signal caller or they will have to turn to the unsigned high school players to see if they can find a QB qualified to play at Miami.

Miami had all four of their tight ends get hurt this season leaving them without a player at the position for the final game and a half of the 2018 regular season. If that happens with half the amount of quarterbacks and early in the 2019 season, it would be a guaranteed disaster.
