Blisset signs with Surge ’19 strengthening the position that Miami lost its most valuable player from in 2018, Willis led the Miami football team and was 14th nationally with 18 tackles for loss in 2018. He led Hurricanes defensive linemen with 59 tackles and added 4.5 sacks from the interior of the defensive line.

Blisset should get a chance to be part of the Miami rotation at defensive tackle as Freshman in 2019. He will compete with returning starter at defensive tackle Pat Bethel and Sophomore Jon Ford and Freshman Nesta Jade Silvera in 2019.

Blisset is the 318th ranked player overall, the 22nd ranked defensive tackle and the second-ranked player from New York in the Class of 2019. He will get a chance to see his future team play up close in the Pinstripe Bowl next week. He played high school football at Poly Prep in Brooklyn.

Payton is expected to be the highest ranked player to sign with Miami during the early signing period. He is the 69th ranked player in the country, the 11th ranked wide receiver and ninth-ranked player in Florida per 247. Payton adds depth to the strongest unit on the Hurricanes, but one that loses two key players from 2018.

Leading receiver Jeff Thomas left or was dismissed from the team prior to the season finale against  Pittsburgh depending on who you believe. Miami also loses Senior Darrel Langham from the team after this season-ending Pinstripe Bowl game against Wisconsin next week.
