The Miami Hurricanes are at a crossroads entering the 2019 season. After having an experienced quarterback entering 2018, the Hurricanes quarterback room will be young in 2019.

N’Kosi Perry will enter the 2019 season with seven starts as the Miami Hurricanes quarterback. Perry’s 2018 season was erratic. He had some outstanding moments and some frustrating ones. Like Malik Rosier did with Perry this season, Perry will have Jarren Williams challenging him to be the starter in 2019.

It has been a tumultuous season at times for both Perry and Williams. Perry was suspended for the season opener for an unnamed violation of team rules during the 2018 offseason.

Williams received a one-game suspension for the Hurricanes game at Virginia Tech last month. Williams suspension was also for the unspecified violation of team rules.

The controversy surrounding both Perry and Williams continued as the Hurricanes were getting ready for the Pinstripe Bowl against Wisconsin and in the middle of the early signing period for the 2019 recruits were signing their national letter of intent.

News broke on the first day of National Signing Day that Williams would be seeking a transfer at the end of the season. That was followed two days later that Perry posted a ten-second video in September of two unidentified people having sex on Snapchat.

Williams spoke to Head Coach Mark Richt and his son, Quarterbacks Coach Jon and decided to stay with the Miami football program. Williams should have a chance to challenge Perry to be Miami’s starting quarterback in 2019.

Perry’s indiscretion is continuing to evolve. The Snapchat video didn’t surface until November. It was quickly disseminated among the Miami student body. This is the second social media gaffe that Perry has had this season.
