When news that a high profile athlete like Perry is involved in a questionable social media post is reported on by another source, the big media sites will not give any meaning to it without the original source being valid.

We cannot expect any credible media outlet to report on the Miami Hurricanes or anyone else without being objective. Even blogs and the local media need to report the news first and then support the Miami Hurricanes athletic programs second.

If you asked Mark Richt about that exact thing he would give the same answer. We cannot expect anyone in media that covers the Hurricanes or any other sports team to only report the news when’s it’s positive.

It’s any responsible writer’s job to report the facts and then if they have to give an opinion to do so based on the facts. It’s delusional to expect any media outlet to be a cheerleader for a team, league or conference.

It’s nearly the same theory that says that a media outlet like ESPN or any other has it out for a specific team or league. A brilliant post was done years ago on the SB Nation Nebraska site Corn Nation that took down virtually every post on Twitter that claimed that ESPN had it out for their team or conference.

Let the media report the news and cheer on your own team without criticizing someone for reporting the facts. The media has a job to be objective and report what is…that doesn’t mean cheering on the team they cover or only reporting good news.
