The Miami Hurricanes and Wisconsin Badgers are facing off in a Bowl Game for the second straight season. After playing on Miami’s home field at Hard Rock Stadium in the Orange Bowl game last year, the teams will meet in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium

Thursday afternoon’s game is the third time in the last ten seasons that the Miami Hurricanes and Wisconsin are playing in a bowl game. Both of those games were won by the Badgers. Wisconsin won the Champs Sports Bowl 20-14 (now the Camping World Bowl) in Orlando in 2009.

Miami enters the game with a two-game winning streak after winning at Virginia Tech and Senior Day over Pittsburgh in their 2018 home finale over the Panthers. That flipped a two-game losing streak entering the Orange Bowl last season.

Wisconsin travels to New York with losses in four of its final seven games of the 2018 season. That includes a 37-15 blowout loss to Minnesota for the Paul Bunyan Ax in their final regular season game of 2018. Wisconsin’s win at Purdue the week before the loss to the Golden Gophers broke a three-game Badgers road losing streak.

Wisconsin went 2-3 away from Camp Randall Stadium this season. Miami was 2-4 in games away from Hard Rock Stadium. That included their only neutral site game of 2018. The Hurricanes lost their 2018 season opener 33-17 against LSU at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

Wisconsin travels well and has a large alumni base in New York. Expect a lot of red in the crowd at Yankee Stadium. That’s a fact that might not go over well with the New Yorkers attending the game.
