Leach-

He has long been one of the best offensive minds in college football. Leach has revolutionalized the sport with his air raid offense. He has a home in Key West and has had only three losing seasons in 17 years as a Head Coach.

Elliott- At 39 years old Elliott would be one of the youngest candidates on this list and the predictive one. Brown is also 39.

Despite not having any Head Coaching experience Elliott would probably carry more cache with the board of trustees and the fans. He has done a great job of tutoring Freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence this season.

This is a huge hire for James and the Miami Board of Trustees. Richt’s decision to retire after three seasons so abruptly has left James in a tough place with hiring a new coach. The announcement by Richt came 11 days after the early National Signing Period and just ten after Diaz took the Temple job.

Diaz was the heir apparent and perfect Coach to succeed Richt. It could be his job to decide to take or honor Temple and his decision to take the Head Coaching job with the Owls. If Diaz turns James and Miami football down, there will still be plenty of good candidates. One might come from off of this list.
