Miami football will be well represented in NFL Wildcard round
Benjamin’s second catch on that drive was for 26 yards on fourth and ten from the Chiefs 36 yardline. He could be a sleeper against the Ravens. The Baltimore secondary will be concentrating on the Chargers running backs out of the backfield and Keenan Allen and Mike Williams on the outside.
Safety Rayshawn Jenkins played in 15 games with one start for the Chargers for the second straight season. He had 23 tackles, a tackle for loss and a half sack.
Two Miami Hurricanes alums will take the field for the Chicago Bears when they host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Punter Pat O’Donnell had a mediocre season. Deon Bush is a backup at safety.
O’Donnell was 18th in the NFL averaging 45.0 yards per punt. He was 39th in net yards averaging 39.7 yards. O’Donnell was better at the specialty punting stats. He finished 10th in the NFL with 28 punts inside the 20 and 14th with 20 fair catches forced.
Bush had eight tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble in 2018. He started two games in his third season with the Bears. Bush has started eight of the 39 games he had played in during his career. He started six as a rookie in 2016.
More Miami football alums will make their NFL Playoff debuts for this season next week. The Saints do not have any former Hurricanes.
The Patriots lead the teams with byes with three. The marquee player could be New England wide receiver, Philip Dorsett. With Josh Gordon out, Dorsett could be a key receiver for Tom Brady.
