During a teleconference that Miami beat reporters with Head Coach Manny Diaz, he stated that the remainder of the Miami Football offensive staff is expected to be announced in the next few days.

Diaz’s statement was part of a Tweet Chirinos sent out on Friday afternoon following a teleconference updating the beat reporters on the Miami football program that stated:

Diaz and Offensive Coordinator “Dan Enos and most likely some of the new hires expected to be announced tomorrow will meet with Hurricanes players Sunday night.

The remainder of Chirinos Tweet with the information from Diaz stated that “It seems like it’s been a long time, but we still have not come together as a football team since the hire was announced….”

Enos was announced on Friday morning as Miami’s new Offensive Coordinator. He replaces Thomas Brown who was let go by Diaz after former Head Coach Mark Richt announced his retirement on December 30. Diaz was hired less than 12 hours after Richt’s stunning announcement.

Enos had previously been the Quarterbacks Coach and Assistant Head Coach under Nick Saban at Alabama. Diaz is likely giving Enos free reign how to run the offense with the Hurricanes. Diaz had the same affordability to him as Defensive Coordinator under Richt.

Diaz stated early in the week he wanted the offensive staff in place before the dead period in recruiting ended on Thursday. As it stands now, Miami is a day behind everyone else in the 20-day window between the end of the dead period and National Signing Day February 6.

The updates about where the Miami football team is with finalizing the staff came during a Friday afternoon conference call with the team’s beat reporters. According to Chirinos, Diaz had high praise for Enos and former Miami safety Adrian Colbert who came to Miami as a Graduate Transfer.

The Colbert reference was in relation to the Miami football program adding Buffalo wide receiver K.J. Osborn for 2019. Colbert has started 12 of the 21 games he has played in the NFL after being a seventh-round draft pick in 2017.

The entire offensive staff is expected to be completed over the next few days according to Manny Navarro of the Athletic. Enos will also be the Quarterbacks Coach in addition to the Offensive Coordinator. That leaves Miami with Coaches for the running backs, wide receivers, offensive line and tight ends left.

Diaz could choose to have the Offensive Line or Tight Ends Coach also coach receivers. The Hurricanes do have four spots open on their staff after the additions of the new Coordinator with Enos and Blake Baker on defense. There have not been the rampant rumors about the rest of the offensive staff like there was at Coordinator.
