The ACC announced the 2019 Football schedules on Wednesday afternoon. The Miami football team will begin ACC play very early with a week two trip to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina.
The week two ACC opener is the earliest the Miami football team is playing a conference game since they opened the season at Louisville in 2014. That was the Cardinals first conference game. The Hurricanes got throttled 31-13 in that game. It was also Brad Kaaya’s debut as the Miami starting quarterback.
After beginning the season August 31 in Orlando against Florida after the trip to Chapel Hill the Hurricanes will have five straight home games. Miami’s home opener is September 14 against Bethune-Cookman. The Hurricanes are against home Central Michigan a week later in their last non-conference home game of 2019.
After hosting Central Michigan, Miami has a bye week before resuming ACC play with their conference home opener against Virginia Tech October 5. That is much earlier than they have played the Hokies last few years. Virginia comes to Hard Rock Stadium six days later for a Friday night game on ESPN.

Miami concludes the five-game, six week home stand October 19 against Georgia Tech and their new Head Coach Geoff Collins. It should be an intriguing game. Miami Head Coach Manny Diaz was slated to replace Collins at Temple before returning to the Hurricanes 18 days after accepting the job with the Owls.
After six weeks without a road game, the Miami football team plays four of their last five games away from Hard Rock Stadium. There is a bye week and a game against FIU at Marlins stadium as part of that stretch. The week following Georgia Tech the Hurricanes travel to Pittsburgh.
