SB Nation’s Alex Kirshner previously uncovered that Miami had more decommits than signees in their 2019 recruiting class and was one of many writers to label the Hurricanes losers during the early signing period in December. He stated in an article earlier this week that “Miami might be having college football’s best offseason so far.”

Kirshner’s article was subtitled“December was rough for the Canes, but January is going nicely.” Diaz is turning Miami into transfer U.

Since Diaz was hired on December 30, Miami has added former four-star safety Bubba Bolden from USC, Grad Transfer Wide Receiver K.J. Osborn from Buffalo and four-star QB Tate Martell from Ohio State.

Kirshner went through the article to first highlight the negatives that happened to Miami at the end of the season and then flipped it around to the positives. There were three negatives and six positives. Two of each highlighted Diaz and wide receiver Jeff Thomas. Both had previously left the Miami football program and returned.

Kirshner was clearly down on Richt and his future and likes the Miami football program’s future much more with Diaz leading it. He recapped the last month for the Hurricanes and the direction the football program is now going in.

"“To recap: Miami went from having a head coach going in the wrong direction, who’d just lost his top assistant, to having a head coach who’s firmly on the rise, and also went from having a bad QB situation to potentially having a really good QB situation, with other offensive help abounding and recruiting likely invigorated by adding a popular coach like Diaz.”"
