The Miami basketball team travels to Syracuse on Thursday night to take on the Orange. Coming off a hard-fought loss to North Carolina the Miami basketball team is 9-8 overall and 1-4 in the ACC.

Syracuse enters the matchup of the dueling orange teams 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the ACC. The Orange are in fourth place in the ACC a half game out of first. Syracuse has owned the rivalry versus the Miami basketball program. The Orange have an 18-8 advantage all-time against the Hurricanes.

Syracuse is coming off of a 74-63 victory over Pittsburgh. The game prior to their victory over the Panthers, Syracuse upset Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Miami lost at home to Syracuse 62-55 last season. Expect Thursday night’s matchup to be a low scoring game. Miami won at the Carrier Dome 62-57 in 2017.

The Hurricanes have not broken the 70 point barrier against Syracuse since 2004. That came in a 91-74 loss at the Watsco Center. Since the Orange joined the ACC for the 2013-14 school year, they have won four of the seven games against Miami. The Hurricanes had won three of the previous four before the 2018 loss.

For Miami to win they are going to have to get off to a good start. Canes Warning was asked by our Syracuse partner site, Inside to the Loud House to give them some perspective on the Miami basketball team. The Hurricanes season has basically come down to a few things..

The seven-man rotation has limited them in a number of ways, they have been outscored in the second half and they need to shoot the ball well from three to be competitive. We expanded on those concepts with Inside the Loud House.
