The return of Manny Diaz to the Miami football program after a 17-day sabbatical has reenergized the Hurricanes fanbase and extensive media who cover the team.

The hiring of Manny Diaz to replace Mark Richt as the Head Coach of the Miami football team has reenergized the football fanbase and the media who cover the Hurricanes. Social media has been abuzz with gratitude for the seemingly endless amount of stories to write about and the fanbase has renewed energy.

The August 31, 2019 season opener against Florida in Orlando cannot come soon enough. The Lord of the Turnover Chain has pumped life into a Miami football program that was listless during the Hurricanes four-game losing streak in the middle of the 2018 season. Diaz has added Lord of the Transfer Portal to his unofficial titles.

Diaz has added four high-level transfers through the portal since January 9. Former USC safety Bubba Bolden became the first player to commit to the Miami football program through a transfer. Buffalo receiver K.J. Osborn entered the portal a day later. Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell followed four days after Osborn.

Former UCLA Defensive tackle Chigozie Nnoruka announced he will transfer to Miami earlier this week. Osborn and Nnoruka will be graduate transfers. Bolden is eligible immediately after sitting out the 2018 season at USC.

Martell who was Bolden and Miami tight end Brevin Jordan’s high school teammate has to petition the NCAA for a waiver to play in 2019. Martell left Ohio State because the Buckeyes added former Georgia quarterback Justin Fields. Fields also has to petition the NCAA in order to be able to play this season.
