The Miami basketball team hopes to avenge a loss to Florida State earlier this season when they host the Seminoles on Sunday night at the Watsco center. Florida State won 68-62 on their home court earlier this month.

The Seminoles enter their matchup with the Miami basketball team 14-5 overall but just 2-4 in the ACC. Florida State ended a three-game losing streak earlier this week following the win over Miami earlier this month. Miami can avenge their loss to the Seminoles and move into a tie with them in the ACC.

Florida State uses a balanced offense with eight players averaging between 6.3 and 12.8 points per game. Ten Seminoles average double figures in minutes per game.

FSU does not take a lot of three-pointers and they are a poor three-point shooting team. The Seminoles shoot just 32.1 percent from beyond the arc. Florida State is a good free throw shooting team and gets to the line often.

The Miami basketball team has also had excellent balance this season. The Hurricanes are the only team in the Power Six basketball conferences with five players averaging at least 11.6 PPG.

Miami needs to shoot the ball well from three to give themselves a chance to win. They went 4-18 from long range in Tallahassee but still managed to stay in the game late.  The Seminoles secured the victory with a last-second offensive rebound putback to put the game out of reach.

Florida State made just six of their 26 three-point attempts and eight of 13 from the free throw line in Tallahassee earlier this month. The Hurricanes stayed in the game by making 18 of their 22 free throws.

Chris Lykes hopes to bounce back after scoring only eight points in Thursday’s 20 point loss at Syracuse. It was the first time Lykes was held to single digits since November.

Florida State got 41 points off the bench in their victory over Miami earlier this month. No Seminole starters reached double figures. Lykes led the Hurricanes with 17. Miami only received ten points from its bench.
