Miami’s 22 wins against Virginia Tech are the third most of any school and the most against teams who they have a winning record against. The Hurricanes have won four of the last five and eight of the last ten games against Virginia Tech.

Wednesday night’s game is the Hurricanes second straight on an ESPN network station and their second straight against an opponent they will place twice this season. Florida State swept the season series from Miami with the victory on Sunday. The Hurricanes and Hokies will also play March 8 in Blacksburg.

Miami and Virginia split the last four meetings. This could be Tony Bennett’s best team at UVA. They have rebounded well from last season’s shocking 20-point first round loss as a one seed to 16th seeded Maryland-Baltimore County. It was the first win by a 16 seed in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
