Several Miami football Surge ’19 signees will announce where they will play college football on National Signing Day Wednesday. Their announcements commence at approximately 8 AM ET and should continue through about 2:30 PM ET.

There are 13 players in the Surge ’19 class that signed National Letters of Intent in December. Three more have committed to the Miami football program and are expected to sign on Wednesday. The Hurricanes are awaiting the decisions of six players who will announce where they are attending school on Wednesday morning.

The three players expected to sign with the Miami football program who are already committed are all three-stars. Junior College, Aussie punter Louis Hedley, quarterback Peyton Matocha from Houston and defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte are all expected to sign their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

The major decisions begin with maybe the most important potential signee in the Hurricanes Surge ’19 class. Four-star defensive end Khris Bogle from Cardinal Gibbons committed to Alabama in early January.

Bogle has backed off on that commitment, but not de-committed in the last month. The Crimson Tide has had a lot of staff turnover since Bogle committed to them on January 5 at the Army All-America Game in San Antonio. That has brought the Miami football program and Florida back in the mix.

Bogle will announce which school he will sign his National Letter of Intent with at 8 AM ET on Wednesday. He will be the first potential Hurricanes signee to announce his decision on Wednesday.

Four-star cornerback Christian Williams who is also committed to Alabama will make his decision known an hour later. Many recruiting experts expect Williams to flip from Alabama. Miami and LSU are battling Nick Saban to sign the in-state star from Daphne. LSU seems to be the favorite to sign Williams.

The Miami offensive line has been one of their biggest weaknesses over the past two seasons. Adding another offensive linemen to center Jakai Clark, guard Zion Nelson and tackle Adam El-Gammal are all three-star signees in Surge ’19.

Miami is currently battling Florida State to sign three-star offensive tackle Darius Washington. Washington de-committed from Mississipi State on Sunday. He will announce his college destination at 10 AM ET.

The biggest name in addition to Bogle during the 2019 recruiting cycle to consider Miami is athlete Mark Antony Richards who Miami projects at running back. The brother of former Hurricanes wide receiver

Ahmmon Richards

is considering Auburn and Florida in addition to Miami.

The 247 composite Crystal Ball projects Richards to sign with Auburn. Rivals expects the four-star player from Wellington to sign with Miami. Richards will announce his college choice at 11 AM ET.

Surge ’19 is one of two finalists for Pensacola three-star cornerback Martin Emerson. Emerson has been committed to Mississippi State since July. He is set to announce at Noon ET if he will keep his commitment with the Bulldogs or flip to Miami.

He sent out a tweet stating that he will announce his collegiate choice at 11 AM. Pensacola is on Central time, so that’s noon eastern. Emerson would help provide depth to a secondary that only has cornerback Te’Cory Crouch and safety Keontra Smith from Chaminade-Madonna commited to Surge ’19.

Four-star defensive back Kaiir Elam would be a huge addition to the Miami secondary. The Palm Beach native son is also considering Florida, Georgia and Colorado. Florida is considered the favorite according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. Elam’s announcement comes at 1 PM ET.

The final announcement on Wednesday seems to be the player that Miami has the least chance of signing. Five-star wide receiver Georgia Pickens is a Hard commit to Auburn according to 247.

Pickens was impressed with the Miami coaching staff during his visit. Jackson reports that Pickens will choose Auburn, or maybe another SEC school.

According to Jackson, Rivals had a report out on Tuesday that Pickens might not have a high enough ACT or SAT score to sign this week. Even with that uncertainty, Jackson projected that Pickens will still likely state his future in some way on Wednesday.

Pickens would be the only five-star signee in Surge ’19. Running back Lorenzo Lingard was the Hurricanes only five-star signee in 2018. Lingard played only four games in 2018 before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
