There are a few angry and completely misinformed statements by Luciano in his column which is thinly disguised as an article or news.

"“For the sake of college football, this better not work out…Martell is trying to game the system and receive what the NCAA dubs a “hardship waiver” that would enable him to play right away. In order to accomplish this, Martell is citing the Urban Meyer-Zach Smith fiasco as emotionally taxing… The NCAA needs to put their foot down and keep Martell on the shelf for one year. Failing to do so could send the entire system crumbling down…"

Suggesting that allowing Martell to play can “send the entire system crumbling down.” is someone merely stating an opinion and not doing any research into the much greater issue with college athletics.

ESPN College Basketball Analyst Jay Bilas posted his own opinion on Tuesday while tweeting out the ESPN articleIs the era of CFB free agency upon us?” that Canes Warning discussed Monday.

"“So, players are smart enough to decide their future while in high school, but can’t be trusted to do so after actually experiencing college? Yeah, right. That makes perfect sense. The truth? This is about coaches protecting their rosters and assets.”"

Bilas, Setchen and others that are a lot closer to the players than the average fan or media member get the deeper issues going on. The NCAA needs to have a deep examination of the issue of transfers and how it’s going to affect college football.
