Coming off a last-second victory at home over Clemson the Miami basketball team travels to Boston College trying to win its first ACC game on the road in 2019.

The Miami basketball team has played its best in the ACC over their last four games. The Hurricanes have won two of their last three games, were competitive at Virginia two weeks ago and lost in overtime at North Carolina last Saturday. Miami enters Sunday night’s game at Boston College 11-13 overall, 2-9 in the ACC.

Boston College has also had a disappointing season. The Eagles are 12-11, 3-8. A win by Miami would vault them over BC and Notre Dame in the ACC Standings to tenth. It would also give them the tiebreaker over the Eagles and Fighting Irish. Teams 10-15 in the ACC play in the first round of the tournament.

Clemson is currently in ninth, 5-7 in the ACC. Miami also owns the tiebreaker over the Tigers after Wednesday night’s victory. A Zach Johnson runner to the left of the lane with 0.3 seconds remaining gave Miami the victory.

Boston College broke a four-game losing streak on Tuesday night with a home victory over Pittsburgh. The Eagles had lost nine of their previous 11 games. That included a loss to Hartford in Chesnut Hill to end their non-conference schedule.

Last season the Eagles had the dynamic backcourt of Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman. BC Head Coach Jim Christian was counting on having them back for the 2018-19 season.

Robinson declared for the NBA Draft where was the 13th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. Even with Bowman and Robinson, the Eagles finished 19-16, 7-11 in 2017-18.

Bowman and diminutive Miami point guard Chris Lykes will be the matchup to watch on Sunday night. Bowman leads Boston College in scoring at 20.0 points per game. Lykes tops the Hurricanes at 17.1 PPG.
