Behind the scenes, James worked quickly to ensure that the Miami Football program hired the only Head Coach right to succeed Richt. Diaz knows the players and the present culture of the Miami football program. The Hurricanes are headed in the right direction with Diaz as their Head Coach.

His hiring was just the beginning of many more changes to come leading up to National Signing Day on February 6. Diaz ensured to make changes for the betterment of the Miami football program. That’s where his number one loyalty seems to lie.

It was clear from the outset that Diaz was more open to the offensive changes that the higher ups wanted. First, there was the task of getting Diaz out of his Temple contract. Miami had to pay Temple a $4 million buyout for Diaz to be able to accept his dream job.
