After a good tenure at Michigan State proving equally adept working with quarterbacks and running backs new Miami Hurricanes Offensive Coordinator Dan Enos was hired as the Head Coach at Central Michigan.

In five years as the Chippewas Head Coach, new Miami Hurricanes Offensive coordinator and QB Coach Dan Enos went 26-36. They were 20-18 in his last three years.

The Chippewas only bowl victory in the Enos era came in the Little Ceasars Bowl over Western Kentucky and interim Head Coach Lance Guidry. Guidry replaced current Florida State Head Coach Willie Taggart who left for South Florida.

Several players during Enos’ tenure at Central Michigan left among the all-time leaders on offense. QBs Cooper Rush and Ryan Radcliffe are second and third in school history in passing yards. Zurlon Tipton is 12th all-time in rushing yards.

Six of the top 13 receivers in Central Michigan history came during Enos’ five seasons with the Chippewas. That includes CMU’s all-time leader in receiving yards and touchdowns, Titus Davis. Future NFL Hall of Famer Antonio Brown missed Enos by one season in Mt. Pleasant and is the Chippewas all-time leader in receptions.

After being fired at Central Michigan, Enos moved on to Arkansas where he was the Offensive Coordinator for three seasons under Bret Bielema. His experience with the Razorbacks and with Diaz working under Florida Coach Dan Mullen at Mississippi State will help Miami opening night vs. Florida.

In the year prior to Enos’ arrival in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks averaged 188 passing yards per game. In his first two seasons, the Arkansas passing game vaulted to over 260 yards per game.

Brothers Brandon and Austin Allen thrived throwing the football under Enos with the Razorbacks.  In his one season under Enos in 2015, Brandon completed 65.9 percent of his passes for 3,440 yards, 30 touchdowns, eight interceptions and 166.5 passer rating.

Austin Allen was Arkansas’ starting QB in 2016 and ’17 with Enos as the Offensive Coordinator. He completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 4,857 yards 35 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in those two seasons. Austin had a 146.0 passer rating in 2016 and 132.5 in 2017.

Enos was not retained when Bielema was fired following the 2017 season. His career received a fortunate turn when he was hired to be the QB coach at Alabama for the 2018 season.

Enos helped Tua Tagovailoa to a historic season with the Crimson Tide. His 199.4 passer rating set the FBS record for a season. Alabama’s team passer rating of 197.4 also set the record. Tagovailoa finished runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Tagovailoa finished the season throwing for 3,966 yards and an absurd 43 touchdowns against six interceptions. As a team, Alabama threw for 4,854 yards, 52 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Tagovailoa obliterated the Crimson Tide passing records in a season by nearly 500 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Next. New Miami OC Dan Enos had extensive offensive success before becoming a HC. dark

Enos is definitely the right fit at the right time for the Miami Hurricanes offense. The quarterback play was a mess last season. Adding Tate Martell as a transfer from Ohio State and Enos as the QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator can only upgrade the passing game in 2019.
