Hockman and Francois would have been Florida State’s highest ranked QBs coming out of high school. Blackman, Hockman, Martell and Perry were all in the recruiting class of

2017

. Martell was the fifth-ranked QB in 2017, Perry 15th, Hockman 20th and Blackman 27th according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Blackman, Hornibrook and Travis are the only scholarship QBs on the Florida State roster. Travis and Williams were both in the 2018 high school class. Williams was the 77th ranked player overall in the class and the ninth-ranked quarterback. Travis 889th overall and the 25th ranked dual-threat QB.

The performance of the three Miami Hurricanes QBS has been criticized overall. The Hurricanes (like Florida State) are installing a new offense and having to face one of the best defenses in the country over the past three years. A lot of information has been left out by the Seminoles football tribe.

Florida State’s QBs might have put up big numbers in their spring game but it came against a maligned defense. Taggert’s teams have often thrived offensively during his career as a head coach but his defenses have been poor.

Florida State fans will point to the fact that he is an offensive coach. The head coach is responsible for the entire team, not just one side of the ball. It’s why Manny Diaz fired the Hurricanes entire offensive coaching staff and brought in former Alabama QB coach Dan Enos as offensive coordinator and QB coach.
