Enos is known as a QB guru. The Crimson Tide set the team record and Tua Tagovailoa the individual record for passing efficiency in FBS during a season last year under Enos’ tutelage. No one expects the Miami QBs to equal those numbers, but the Hurricanes passing game should be better in 2018.

Florida State fans have repeatedly pointed to one call last season in the loss to Miami. Taggart’s Gulf Coast offense was supposed to put up big numbers last season. In the second half against the Hurricanes, they were more like the Bermuda triangle.

One call did not cost the Seminoles last year’s game against Miami. The Hurricanes defense held Florida State to 55 second-half yards on 34 plays. That’s 1.61 yards per play. Mississippi State led FBS last season allowing 4.13 yards per play. Miami was third at 4.30. Florida State’s offense was 110th averaging 5.12 yards per play.

All we heard coming out of Tallahassee last offseason was how great the offense was going to be. It wasn’t one of the worst at moving the ball in the country last year. Even Miami’s frequently maligned offense was 75th averaging 5.59 yards per play in 2019. It should be better this season under Enos.

The report that Martell was booed at scrimmage was erroneous. The booing resulted from a Florida State fan in the stands. The irony and ignorance of the above tweet shows the foolishness of fan that clearly cares more about his team’s rivals than what his team is doing.

Canes Warning will continue to primarily focus on what Miami is doing. This needed to be called out. Florida State’s offense which was supposed to be elite doesn’t even have a QB on their roster who would be one of the three most talented on Miami’s.

Both Enos and Briles have had success in Power Five Conferences running an offense. Before his one year stint at Alabama, Enos spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator at Arkansas.

Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. More accurately in this case rocks. Before criticizing the Miami QBs those that support Florida State should examine their own team and the ineptness of their own offense under a coach that was lauded as an offensive guru.
