The additions of draftees to NFL Rosters change the complexion of depth charts. A few Miami Hurricanes alums will have challenges on their hands in training camp with the addition to the rookies to their franchises. Their roster spots could be in jeopardy.

One of the biggest stories in the 2019 NFL offseason, at least from Miami Hurricanes fans perspectives, was the demand of Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson to be traded. Johnson was disappointed in the Browns signing former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt.

Hunt is suspended for the first eight games of the 2019 season for a domestic dispute. Johnson is expected to play behind Hunt when he returns and second-year running back Nick Chubb. In four seasons Johnson has rushed for 1,286 yards and 235 receptions for 2,170 yards receiving. Johnson has 13 career touchdowns.

Artie Burns was a first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2016. After starting 25 games his first two seasons, Burns started six games in 2018. Burns numbers have gone down each of his three seasons in the NFL. Burns had 64 tackles, three interceptions and 13 pass breakups in his rookie season in 2016.

Those numbers dropped to 54, one and 13 in 2017 and 22, zero and last seasons. Burns was reported to have been benched for most of the second half of 2018 in which he played poorly.

Houston Texans offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson is the second highest rated recruit in Miami Hurricanes football history. Entering his sixth season in the NFL, Henderson is with his second team. He played the first four seasons of his career in Buffalo. He spent the 2018 season with the Houston Texans.

Henderson’s career has been hindered by injuries and off the field issues. The mammoth tackle played and started in 26 games his first two seasons in the league with the Bills. He has only played in nine in the last three seasons. His career is very much in question.
