Not surprisingly very few of Martell’s detractors praised him a week later when he played exceptionally well in the spring game. Enos discussed his expectations for Martell.

"“Being a quarterback at a major university, there’s pressure in that to begin with, and then obviously with a lot of the notoriety Tate’s had just from the TV show as a highly recruited guy, with those expectations come people putting pressure on themselves. We’ve just tried to get Tate to focus on getting better and focusing on the things he needs to focus on. A lot of times, guys worry about the wrong things. You worry about what other people think. You worry about what are they saying. You can’t worry about any of that, you’ve got to focus in on getting yourself better and getting your mind on the right things. That’s the message I’ve had to him the entire spring.”"

Martell is excited with what he and his teammates have learned this spring from Enos’ offense. It’s far more complex than what the Miami Hurricanes previously ran under former Head Coach Mark Richt. Miami had one of the worst passing attacks in FBS in 2018. ESPN expects the Miami offense to be one of the best in 2019.

"“It’s going to be awesome when it all comes together because it makes sense, and there’s always an answer. You can ask any of the guys, they all believe in it and that’s why everybody’s willing to work. Once everybody’s on the same page, it’s going to be a tough offense to stop…It’s going to be something special to watch this year.”"

Enos is one of the most respected offensive minds in college football. He had offers to be a head coach at other schools and the offensive coordinator at Alabama where was the QB coach in 2019.  Enos helped Alabama and QB Tua Tagovalioa set team and individual FBS passing efficiency records in 2018.

Enos working with the Miami Hurricanes QBs will only help their maturation process. The question is who will be the starter in 2019. Martell will ultimately be judged if he doesn’t win the starting job this fall.

Most of the Miami Hurricanes fan base seems to back Perry or Williams. Most national college football experts project that Martell will be the starting QB in Orlando on August 24.
