Miami football recruiting: Class of 2020 can rise with post Paradise camp commits

One of the most critical weekends for recruiting on the Miami football calendar has commenced. The Hurricanes are holding Paradise Camp this weekend. The first three events have netted Miami dozens of commits and eventual signees.

Former Miami Football Coach Mark Richt inaugurated Paradise Camp at his alma mater in 2016. His successor Manny Diaz has a few surprises in store that give the fourth iteration of Paradise Camp his own spin. An entire roster full of Miami football recruits in the Classes of 2020-23 is ascending on Coral Gables this weekend.

Andrew Ivins of Inside the U compiled the impressive list of Miami recruits assembling in Coral Gables this weekend to take part in Paradise Camp. Several Miami football alums are expected to take part in Paradise Camp.

Past attendees that helped Richt and the coaching staff included Michael Irvin, Ed Reed, Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis. Only a handful of College Football programs has four Pro Football Hall of Famers still living, much less that amount that still participates in the football program.

Nineteen Miami commits and seven commits to other schools are participating in Paradise Camp. The seven recruits committed elsewhere come from six different programs. Two Alabama commits at WR comprise the only currently committed future college teammates at a school other than Miami who will be at Paradise Camp.

Two of the 86 Paradise Camp attendees will be taking their official visits with the Miami football program this weekend. Four-star cornerback Keshawn Lawrence and four-star wide receiver Dazalin Worsham are taking their sanctioned visit with the Hurricanes this weekend.

Worsham and Thaiu Jones-Bell are the two Alabama commits who will be at Paradise Camp. Jones-Bell is another four-star wide receiver. Worsham and Jones-Bell are committed to the Crimson Tide for 2020. Jones-Bell and Worsham are not allowed to work out this weekend since they will be on their official visits.
