Head coach Manny Diaz’s appearances on multiple ESPN platforms on Tuesday benefits the Miami football program.

Manny Diaz is going through the summer ritual called the ESPN car wash that features college football coaches on the variety of ESPN networks and platforms. His appearances throughout ESPN networks benefit the Miami football program.

Diaz began his appearances at 9:05 AM as a guest on Golic and Wingo. That was followed by a 9:30 AM appearance on the Mike Greenberg led Get Up.

Diaz will continue his guest appearances on ESPN Tuesday with a 12:30 PM spot on Sportscenter followed by being on College Football Live at 3:15 PM. All of the times are eastern daylight time. Diaz’s participation in the Car Wash is a homecoming for the former ESPN production assistant.

Diaz has proven ready for his first head coaching job and particularly at a power five school by his adept handling of the media and social media in less than seven months as the Hurricanes head coach. We have seen how well and thorough Diaz has coached the defense during his three seasons as Miami defensive coordinator.

The defensive players on Miami who have played under Diaz the last three years have unequivocally stated that he is without a doubt ready to be a head coach overseeing the entire Miami football program. Senior linebacker Shaq Quarterman spoke about Diaz’s leadership skills at ACC Kickoff last week.

"“The mentality that he put inside of us, which has made us tremendous football players, is the same mentality that’s going across the whole team now.I think that is very, very dangerous because that guy, he has put the feeling of winning into everybody he coaches, everybody he talks to, everybody he mentors. It’s just a breath of fresh air.At the same time he always talks about two things: you’re defined by your toughness and your word. If you play the way with the mentality that he preaches, we’re going to be fine.”"

Diaz discussed the quarterback situation with Golic and Wingo, his time at ESPN on getup with Greenberg and will likely be asked about the season opener against Florida on either Sportscenter and/or College Football live. Diaz is perfect for the Car Wash. He is one of the most articulate and affable college football head coaches.

Diaz’s background working in media and original career track will help him tremendously as a head coach. Diaz told Greenberg that he learned the importance of attention to detail and that fractions of a second can be critical during his time at ESPN. Fractions of a second are critical in sports.

A fraction of a second won or lost in football can be the difference between getting to the QB for a sack, intercepting a pass or missing the QB or pass and the result being a completion or potentially even a touchdown. Attention to detail, toughness, leadership and an expectation of behavior will be critical in the Diaz era.

Next. Manny Diaz clearly disappointed with N'Kosi Perry off field behavior. dark

If you miss any of Diaz’s appearances they will be available on ESPN’s streaming network, Watch ESPN or on the re-air of the shows that he appears on Tuesday. The Miami football program is front and center on ESPN Tuesday.
