There are not too many games that can kick off the 150th season of college football and create the kind of excitement the Gators and Hurricanes can. In addition to the rivalry between Miami and Florida, the matchup between Mullen and Diaz is intriguing.

Miami and Florida used to play for the Seminole War Canoe. The victor of the round-robin between Miami, Florida and Florida State will now be awarded the Florida Cup. Florida State has owned the Florida Cup since 2013 after crushing the Hurricanes and Gators is on their way to an undefeated, national championship season.

The injuries for Miami and Florida are minimal for the most part. Both programs will be missing backup defensive linemen. Nesta Silvera being out for the Hurricanes means the redshirt freshman Jordan Miller must step up. Miller will be fourth in the Miami rotation at defensive tackle behind Pat Bethel, Jon Ford and Chigozie Nnoruka.
