Kaaya suffered a concussion in the last game of the Al Golden era against Clemson in 2015. He was relieved by
in a 59-0 loss to the Tigers. Rosier had the first extensive action of his career in the debacle at Hard Rock Stadium. He finished 7-22 for 42 yards with no TD and two INTs.
The first start of Rosier’s career came a week later at Duke. Rosier kept Miami in position to win in the most exciting finish in Miami history simply known as the (eight) lateral(s). Rosier finished 20-29 for 272 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
He would go back to the bench the following week as Kaaya returns against Virginia. Rosier became the full-time starter in 2017. He led Miami to their only 10 win season since 2004 and ACC Championship game appearance that year. Rosier would split the starting QB duties with Perry in 2018.
Perry made his debut against Savannah State. He was 9-14 for 93 yards with three TDs and one interception. Three weeks later coming off an outstanding outing against FIU the week before Perry made his first start.
Perry wasn’t asked to do much behind a dominant Miami defensive performance. Perry was 8-12 for 125 yards with one TD and one INT. The Hurricanes won 47-10 on the strength of three defensive touchdowns.
Williams debut start wasn’t commanding and he has a lot of room to grow. It was comparable with any of the players mentioned above. Williams has a bright future ahead of him as the Miami Hurricanes QB.
