In total, Florida had 10 sacks for a loss of 60 yards. Taking away Florida’s sacks, the Hurricanes had 147 rushing yards on 26 carries. That is an exceptional 5.65 yards per carry. If Miami can keep that up against North Carolina, they should win.

The Hurricanes have to pass protect far better against North Carolina. If they don’t the Tar Heels can pack the box and pin their ears back to rush Williams. Miami has to enter the game in Chapel Hill with as much respect for the North Carolina pass rush as they did for Florida’s.

Miami is very good up the middle on the offensive line. The Hurricanes need better play from their tackles. According to Inside the U through Pro Football Focus freshman offensive tackles Zion Nelson and John Campbell allowed 13 QB pressures against Florida. Nelson allowed two sacks and QB hit.

Campbell did not allow a sack, but allowed seven QB hurries and was flagged for three penalties. Miami needs them to grow up quickly and become reliable on the edge. The penalties by Campbell are particularly concerning.

Nelson had a Blutarskiesque 0.0 grade against Florida in pass blocking. Campbell had an overall grade of 42 or 43. Inside the U reported that PFF attributed North Carolina with 19 QB pressures against UNC. Former Tar Heels QB Chazz Surratt switched to LB with five pressures and one sack.
