The New Miami. After what can only be described as one of the most humiliating losses in Miami football history the University Miami was all but shut out by a mediocre Wisconsin team in the Pinstripe Bowl. That December game feels like a lifetime ago.

The above and the rest of the subsequent text contained in this article was written by a Golden Cane who reached out to Canes Warning. Since then the Miami football program has essentially been rebuilt from the ground up. With all the hype and fanfare we enter the season with lofty and perhaps unrealistic expectations.

The season opener was a classic rivalry that can only be described as a very challenging way for Manny Diaz to start his coaching career and quarterback Jarren Williams to start his first-ever game.

While the game was to have been played on a neutral site, having been at the game I can assure you the site was anything but neutral. It was an extremely hostile environment that was made up of about 75 percent Gators fans eager to topple the Miami football team.

The redshirt Freshman quarterback was under intense pressure the entire game. While Miami was able to break out the third edition of its turnover chain multiple times the kicking game left a little bit to be desired in a matchup where perfection was a must.

Miami had multiple opportunities late in the game to win it but just fell short. After a bye week, the Canes went into yet another very hostile environment in North Carolina where over 60,000 fans (were) eagerly awaiting the opportunity to beat Miami.

Manny Diaz once again had to find a way to outmaneuver someone he had worked under before.(Diaz was the defensive coordinator at Texas under UNC coach Mack Brown from 2011-13).

After what can only be described as a horrendous start to the game Miami dominated possession of the football and the quarterback in his second start had what can only be described as a very good game by any standards.
