Lingard reportedly suffered a concussion in practice last week that kept him out against Bethune-Cookman. With a bye week next week getting them rest might be the way to go. The other thinking could be giving Lingard some carries so he is ready for Virginia Tech in two weeks.

Manny Diaz made it a point last week before the Hurricanes played Bethune-Cookman that they need to continue to set a standard at home. Since Diaz took over as defensive coordinator in 2016 and in one game as the head coach in 2019, the Miami football team is 21-4 in games played at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami has won 14 of their last 15 regular-season games at home. Miami cannot and should not lose to teams like Central Michigan and lower-ranked teams in the ACC at home. After the bye week following hosting the Chippewas, Miami hosts Virginia Tech, Virginia and Georgia Tech to begin October.

The forecast for Saturday is for 84 degrees and 90 percent chance of thunderstorms with 74 percent humidity. That weather will favor the Miami football team. Central Michigan does not have a good running game that would essential on a sloppy field. The Chippewas are 85th nationally running the football.
