Miami football top four QB prospects for 2021 with Jake Garcia USC Commitment
Four-star offensive tackle
helps protect Simmons and weakside defensive end
is the highest-rated defensive player committed to the Miami football program for 2020. Like Gauthier, Simmons figures to be a project at Miami. VanDyke appears to be ready to be the successor to Williams under center.
Five other power five programs are currently interested in Simmons. That includes the Miami football program’s ACC Coastal Division rivals Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. Chris Anderson of 247 observed Simmons at West Virginia’s camp in June.
"“He had a good deep ball, and he was fairly accurate on the short and intermediate throws. His technique gets a little funky when he starts throwing it harder or deeper, which will need to be worked on, but he moves well with his feet and can make all the throws. Consistency needs to be worked on, but he was very solid. He ran a 4.90 40-yard dash but was plenty fast when going through drills and throwing on the run.”"

Zachary Robinson Pro-Style
Scouting Report
At 5’9 179 pounds, Zachary Robinson is an undersized quarterback. He is currently unranked. Despite Robinson’s lack of size, Miami is one of six FBS and five Power Five conference programs recruiting him. Among those teams are Miami ACC Coastal Rival North Carolina and QB factories Oklahoma and Stanford.
Robinson’s scouting report was written up by Scouttrout.Com. The Miami football program could be fishing for a quarterback to back up Williams, Perry, Matocha and VanDyke in 2021. Robinson would undoubtedly redshirt as a true freshman in two years.
"“Zachary (Robinson) shows a very good release for a 2021 QB recruit. With aspirations of becoming an aeronautical engineer, Robinson has a 4.2 GPA and exhibits an exceptional ability to grasp new concepts quickly. In his film above, he also shows the ability to throw the football with touch over the top of a defense. He uses nice subtle pump fakes to ensure he creates openings in the defense and delivers very accurate passes downfield. On the final play of his spring game highlight’s, you will see Robinson show very good arm strength, as he hits his back foot and delivers a dart to his receiver. Zachary Robinson can be seen below operating in the same style of option offense and quickly pulls the football to deliver a dart up the seam for a touchdown. Robinson has stated that Dan Marino was his favorite quarterback of all-time and with more refinement as a passing quarterback moving forward, he very well could end up slinging darts downfield with precision like the Pitt legend himself.”"
The 2021 recruiting class signing their Letters of Intent is 15 months away. It’s not time to panic about who the Miami football program will sign at QB in that class. The ideal is to sign a QB every year. The Hurricanes got in late and were fortunate to sign Matocha after Dan Enos was hired to be the New Miami offensive coordinator.
