Perry completed 58.9 percent of his passing attempts in 2018 when he threw the football in 2.5 seconds or less. He had nine TDs and one interception on his passing attempts that only took 2.5 seconds or less. Perry had four TD and five interceptions in his other attempts. That is indicative of Perry and the offensive line.

Perry completed an abysmal 39.2 percent of his passing attempts in 2018 that took 2.5 seconds or more according to Lake. Miami redshirt freshman QB Jarren Williams has been generally praised for being able to go through his reads quicker than Perry. Williams has not thrown the ball as quickly as Perry in 2019.

In the three games for Miami against Power Five teams this season, Williams is averaging 2.65 yards per attempt according to Lake. Williams has been far more accurate than Perry overall. He has run a more consistent efficient offense than Perry in 2019. Perry offers a bigger arm and better running ability.

Williams has completed 87.9 percent of his passes when getting rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds or less. Lake did not specify if that is overall or against the Power Five teams. Williams has been sacked just three times this season when throwing the football in 2.5 seconds or less. Williams needs to be more decisive against better teams.
