Saturday marks a return to the ACC Network for the Miami football team. The Hurricanes were on ESPN the last two weeks against Virginia Tech and Virginia. Georgia Tech has had all but their loss to head coach Geoff Collins former program, Temple on the ACC Network. The Yellow Jackets lost at the Owls 24-2 in September.

The  Georgia Tech and Miami football programs will be connected through Temple during the tenures of Collins and Diaz. Diaz was slated to succeed Collins at Temple before Mark Richt announced his sudden retirement on the Eve of New Year’s Eve last year. Diaz was quickly named Richt’s successor.

Diaz left Temple only 17 days after he was hired. His tenure was short and part-time at that. Diaz split his 2.5-weeks on the job at Temple while remaining the defensive coordinator for the Miami football team in preparation for their Pinstripe Bowl Game against Wisconsin. The loss to the Badgers was three days before Richt resigned.

Broadcast Information:

• Eric Wood (sidelines)
Flagship Radio (560 WQAM)

The broadcast team chosen by the ACC is interesting. Play-by-Play announcer Wes Durham was the voice of the Yellow Jackets until 2013. Analyst Roddy Jones played for Georgia Tech until 2011. Sideline reporter Eric Wood should bring a more neutral voice. Wood played offensive line with Louisville and the Buffalo Bills.
