Miami football still has a path to win ACC Coastal Division
After Miami fans give thanks before the final week of the regular season begins eyes would be concentrated to Charlottesville Virginia for Virginia Tech at Virginia on Friday afternoon. A win by Virginia Tech would drop the Cavaliers to 4-4 in the ACC. That would set up an epic final Saturday of the regular season.
Boston College plays at Pitt, Miami is at Duke and North Carolina at NC State are the conference games involving ACC Coastal Division teams. The remainder of the teams have non-conference games for the final weekend. Miami would benefit by wins from Boston College and NC State in the ACC crossover games.
The final ACC standings would be jumbled. Miami winning out would be culminated by a victory at Duke to finish the season 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the ACC. A Pittsburgh loss at Boston College would mean Miami and the Panthers tied for first in the ACC Coastal at 5-3. The Hurricanes would win the tiebreaker.
Virginia would finish 4-4, Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia Tech 3-5. Miami and Pittsburgh would share the Coastal Division crown. The Hurricanes would go to Charlotte because of their win over the Panthers in Pittsburgh. Everyone in the ACC Coastal in this scenario would finish within one game of the lead.
