3) 2017- Miami 24 Florida State 20

Miami traveled to Tallahassee in 2017 as the nation’s 13th ranked team and an eight-game winning streak that stretched back to the previous season. Florida State met Miami with a seven-game winning streak in the series. The Seminoles needed a blocked extra-point at Hard Rock Stadium in 2016 to secure a victory.

The Miami football team stayed in the game in the first half despite a dismal offensive performance. The Hurricanes ran 30 plays for a total of 57 yards in the first 30 minutes of the game against Florida State. The Seminoles had 124 yards on 24 plays in the first half but only three points to show for it.

Miami played much better defense in the second quarter. The Seminoles ran 22 plays for 39 yards in the second stanza against the Hurricanes. The Miami offense woke up in the third quarter with two scoring drives. A Michael Badgley 31-yard field goal tied the game at 3-3. Miami took the lead on a Malik Rosier to Braxton Berrios TD.

That was the first of two connections between Rosier and Berrios on the day. Berrios was the clutch receiver for the Miami football team throughout the 2017 season. The senior led the Hurricanes in receptions, receiving yards and receiving TDs. Berrios had eight receptions for 90 yards and two TDs against FSU.
