2) 2018- Miami 28 Florida State 27

Florida State took a 20-7 halftime lead on Miami in 2018 at Hard Rock Stadium. A D.J. Matthews 74 yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter stretched that lead to 27-7. Behind an opportunistic defense, Miami began their comeback. Two Florida State turnovers in their own Redzone gave Miami great field position.

A Sheldrick Redwine sack of Florida State QB Deondre Francois gave Miami the ball at the Seminoles 20 yard line. Five plays later Lawrence Cager caught a three-yard touchdown pass from N’Kosi Perry to cut the lead to 27-14. On the ensuing Florida State possession, Michael Pinckney intercepted Francois.

The Hurricanes took over at the Florida State 17 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage Perry connected with Jeff Thomas on the right side of the end zone to cut the Florida State lead to 27-21. Florida State maintained the seven-point lead as the teams went to the fourth quarter. Perry hit Thomas for 32 yards on third and 10.

Brevin Jordan showed why he is regarded as one of the best tight ends in the country on the next play. Jordan caught a 41-yard TD pass from Perry on a deep pattern to tie the game at 27. Bubba Baxa added the extra point to put Miami in front to stay at 28-27. Miami forced Florida State to punt on their next three possessions.

The Hurricanes ran out the clock by perfectly executing the four-minute offense. A 10 play 31-yard drive in 4:12 closed the game out as the Miami football team won their second straight game against Florida State.
