After a loss to open the season against Florida the Miami football team hopes to salvage a winless season against the other two Group of Five teams in the Sunshine State with a victory over the Seminoles. With 4-4 records the Hurricanes and Seminoles enter Saturday’s game with their most combined losses since 1975.
The 1975 Florida State Miami football game featured the 3-8 Seminoles and 2-8 Hurricanes. Florida State was 2-6 and Miami was 1-6. The Hurricanes won 24-22. The win started a three-game winning streak for Miami in the series. The Hurricanes will attempt to match that this weekend.

The Hurricanes rallied with 21 unanswered points.
The Miami football team’s win over Pittsburgh puts the Hurricanes back in the discussion for a bowl game. Miami needs to get to six wins to secure a bid to a bowl game. Florida State is in the same position as Miami at 4-4. The Seminoles play at Boston College and host Alabama State and Florida with a bye in between playing the Hornets and the Gators. Florida State is attempting to qualify for a bowl game after missing one last season for the first time since 1981.
