The focus for Miami against Florida State will be on Williams staring his first game in nearly a month. He last started October 5 against Virginia Tech. Williams was pulled after throwing three interceptions. He will have a chance for a big game against a weak Florida State pass defense.

The Seminoles are 108th in total defense and 118th against the pass. If Williams’s shoulder is healthy he should return to playing as well as did in the first four games. Before being pulled against Virginia Tech, Williams averaged 259.25 passing yards per game in Miami’s first four games of 2019.

As a team, Williams and the Miami pass offense has had success in 2019. Under new offensive coordinator and QB coach Dan Enos, the Hurricanes are ranked 36th in FBS. Williams is 23rd in passer rating and 11th in completion percentage. The play at QB from Williams and Perry has greatly upgraded the Miami pass offense in 2019.

Florida State will try to establish the run with Cam Akers. Akers is having an outstanding season after slumping during his sophomore year in 2018.  He is second in the ACC averaging 114.63 rushing yards per game. Tamorrian Terry is dangerous for Florida State at wide receiver.

Terry leads the Seminoles with 29 receptions, 606 receiving yards and six TDs. He is averaging 20.9 yards per reception. Alex Hornibrook is expected to make his third start of the season for Florida State on Saturday. Hornibrook played for Wisconsin in their 34-24 victory over Miami in the Orange Bowl Game two seasons ago.
